What We're Up To

I thought that I should probably do some updating for those of you who we don't see too often. Clint will be graduating UVU in April after six long years. He'll be getting his bachelors in Business. Just when I thought he was almost done with school, Clint decided that law was his passion, so in the fall he'll be starting Law school. He hasn't actually applied to any schools yet, but he has his list of schools and promises me that applications will be done by tomorrow. Cross your fingers that he makes the deadline.

For the past five years Clint has been working for Checkcity.com as the manager. About a year ago, a sister company to Check City (Softwise) asked Clint to come work with them as their product manager to create a new software program for payday loan companies. About a month ago he started looking at his school schedule and realised that there was no way he was going to be able to work full time, go to school, and get law school applications done. So, he put in his 2 weeks and now he is busier than ever, taking care of the house, doing school work, consulting for Softwise, helping his mom every once in awhile with his dad who has cancer and taking care of Law school stuff. I'm amazed at how hard he works each day and still his list doesn't seem to shrink. He's an amazing husband and I couldn't ask for anyone better.

I've been through a lot the last couple years. I used to manage a beauty supply store and cut hair on the side. I guess it's been about 3 years ago (wow time goes by fast!) that I decided to switch careers and give dental assisting a try. I worked in an office for about 6 months and decided that I really enjoyed being one on one with the patients and liked doing the cleanings and such. Since this is what I enjoyed, I decided that maybe I should go to Dental Hygiene school and get paid really well for doing pretty much what I was doing at the dental office. So that's what I'm working for now. There are pre-reqs that have to be done before I apply, and slowly but surely I'm getting closer.

In January I started working for my dad and uncle as their receptionist. It's a pretty good job, it can just be slow at times. But it's a job, and in our economy I can't complain about having one.

As many of you know, Clint and I have been trying to have kids for quite some time now. I've gone through 3 miscarriages and 3 ectopic pregnancies. Fun, I know :). My last ectopic happened January 2, 2009,which resulted in the doctor having to remove my last remaining uterine tube. So our chances of having a baby naturally is 0%. It's been really hard dealing with all of this, but I just really have a strong feeling that there is a baby out there that we need to adopt. I'm not sure when that will happen, but we're starting to look into the process. So, if adoption takes as long as I have heard, then in 10 years we might have a baby!

Even though I don't have the blessing of being a mother now, I still can't complain about my life. I live in a great ward, have a wonderful family and the best dog and husband I could ask for. I'm grateful for the challenges that I've been through because I believe that it has only made me stronger. I'm so blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know the church is true! With out the church and Heavenly Father and Jesus, I know that my life wouldn't be the same.

I hope I haven't bored you too much, I just wanted to fill you in on our latest adventures. I will hopefully be adding photo's soon, but I don't have any photo's at work, and I keep forgetting to bring them to work with me. So stay tuned for more of Clint, Jen and Jax.

Hooray for your blog! Seeing as we live so far apart and hardly ever see each other, it will be nice to keep up on you and your life :)

Wow, Jen, what a trial. I think you guys are much stronger people than us, obviously Heavenly Father doesn't give us trials that we can't handle. You guys are amazing. I loved hearing about your spontaneous trip to San Diego. What a great little get away. Clint is such a good guy!!! You're lucky to have him. I wish that I was closer to give you a big hug, but since I'm not, know that we are thinking about you. I have heard adopting can be a little bit of a pain, but I have heard MANY MANY MANY wonderful stories that come out of it!!! Good luck. We sure love you guys!

wow Jen! Hugs to you! One miscarriage was enough to put me almost over the edge. If you ever need to talk about it, please call me if you want. I've had another friend go through similar and now has two busy little boys - one from LDS adoption and another from a private company. My brother also has 2 little boys they adopted. Super special feelings for those kiddos!!! AND Sea World is one of my most favorite places!!!
