March Cabin Trip

A couple of weeks ago some of the family was going to the cabin.  It had been since New Years since I'd been and of course Clint didn't want to go (he's crazy and doesn't like it up there), so I decided to take Jax and go by myself.  I'm so glad that I did because I had a BLAST!!!  On Friday the weather was perfect and my dad and I went on a great ride and we were pretty much the only ones on the entire mountain.  The sun was out, the snow was perfect and you would have had to try really hard to get stuck.

When I was in high school I use to love to go snowmobiling with my dad and brother.  I was pretty good if I do say so myself, and could always keep up with the boys.  I wasn't crazy and didn't do the massive hill climbs they did, but I still could go pretty much anywhere they went.  Well now that I've been married for 9 years I don't really get the chances to go like I use to because now I'm an adult and have responsibilities and Clint just doesn't like going so I would rather be with him.  I proud to say that after 11 years of not really doing much riding other than the occasional ride hear and there, I still got the stuff.

I forgot how much I love to snowmobile.  If you have never done it, you should, there is something about it that is just so thrilling and exciting, plus you get to go anywhere you want and see so many different areas of the mountains that you wouldn't usually get to see.  It's just wonderful being around God's amazing creation.

Here are some of the pictures I took while I was there.

My mom was babysitting my brother's girls that weekend so they came.  Here is Mya and Afton enjoying some cheese nibs and a little TV.

Afton was in love with all the snow she could eat.  She went around collecting clumps of snow and saving them for later incase grandma didn't have food she liked to eat.

My dad after the ride we went on.

Here is the cabin, there was SO much snow, you had to walk down to the cabin when usually you walk up the stairs to get to the cabin.

My dad told me that I wouldn't need to keep the heater on in my room on all night, so I didn't (dad's are always right, right?).  Well this is what I woke up to in the morning, 55 degrees.  Burr!

The day before my mom had a little accident  so this is my dad trying to re-inact what she looked like when he found her.  The only difference is that the bottom ski was resting on her neck and helmet. She was going up a hill and didn't give it enough gas so she was trying to turn it around only instead of turning, it tipped over.  She rolled down the hill and so did the machine.  She wasn't fast enough because the machine caught up to her.  Her body stopped the machine and somehow the ski didn't smash her neck.  She was stuck and couldn't move at all.  Luckily my dad was able to lift the machine up enough for her to crawl out.  It was pretty scary.

Here are some of the snowborders.  They like to get these massive kite thingies and have the wind pull them all around.  Like wind surfing, but on snowboards.  They were all over this one particular hill.

Some of the gang at the top of the hill.  As you can see the second day we were there the weather wasn't quite as nice as the first day, but we still had fun.

Jax had a good time playing in the snow.  Isn't he just the cutest dog you have ever seen!

My nephew Chris liked having me take action shots of him playing ping-pong

Not the best picture of me, (ugh) but I love the look on Jax face, "mom stop smothering me!"

Chris found a new friend.

Two of my nieces Hailey and Afton, they enjoyed their time playing in the loft.

Me taking the girls on a little ride.

My happiest moment was when my niece Ellie (standing on the chair) started liking me.  I've been working on her for a year and half and it's finally happened!

If this ever downloads, this is me trying to drive and take a video all at the same time.  It's harder than it looks considering I have to hold the camera in my left hand so my right thump can press the gas.

Spring Break!

Spring Break 2011 has officially started!  What are my big plans?  Vegas, Hawaii, Florida, day at the spa, I wish!  Instead this is what I have planned:

Wash the windows in the front of the house,

Do a 16 week course of Nutrition in 3 days,

Go to work everyday from 8-12 like I always do,

And Sleep.

Sounds fun uh?  Not really but it will be nice to have a break from school (well at least class) for a few days.  I just wish that UVU had the entire week off instead of just 3 days, but a break is a break so no complaining allowed.

Half Way Finished

I can't believe that I've made it to the half way mark of the semester for school.  I don't know why I'm having such a hard time getting motivated to do anything that has to do with school this semester, but I am!  It could have something to do with the fact that I am ALWAYS extremely tired and would much rather take a nap then study, or that I know that this is my last semester of pre-reqs and I just don't really care how I do (which is bad because if I don't get a B in Physiology it won't be my last semester and I'll have to retake it in the fall).  I've already made it half way through this semester, I just hope I can make it half way through the rest of the semester.  Not that you're interested, but let me tell you about the classes I'm taking.

Zumba - I like this one, but for a one credit class and an Elective PE class, we have quite a bit of homework to do so I don't like that too much.  But it's nice to get my work out done during the day so I don't have to worry about it later.

Chemistry Lab - This as well is a one credit class and there is WAY too much to do for it.  Every time we go to lab we have at least 3 things we need to turn in, sometimes 4 plus a quiz.  Ridiculous, and it's not even that fun.  You would think you get to mix all sorts of cool chemicals together and see them do amazing stuff, but it's pretty much just taking measurements of things and writing down boring data.  But I have to take the class, so I guess I'll have to suffer through it.

Physiology - I go to class one time a week (very nice) for 2 1/2 hours (not so nice) and I really enjoy the subject and LOVE my teacher.  Studying and understanding the concepts I don't love too much, but so far I'm doing OK in the class, there is room for improvement, but good luck with that with the little amount of motivation I have.

Physiology Lab - I have the same teacher as my physiology lecture so I of course LOVE her.  This class is OK, nothing too exciting, but it's required so I have to take it.

Sociology - It is so nice to have an easy class again.  This class is CAKE!  Attendance is required so that kind of sucks, but we have 4 tests a semester and on test weeks we don't have to go to class (I usually go to it two times a week).  Then you can miss 4 times with no consequences so when you add up the amounts of time you actually have to go to class in a semester it's only like 18 times!  Plus the test are SOO easy.  I bought a book for the class (big mistake) and haven't opened it once.  Everything we need to know for the test is given to us and the end of each chapter.  I had a test yesterday and studied for it for about 30 minutes, took the test and got a 37/40.  Not perfect, but it's still an "A" so I don't really care!

Nutrition - I can't say much about this one because it's an online class and I haven't done one thing with it.  OK, I have done an introduction paragraph about my self and a small paper about nutrition (only because there were deadlines) but here I go again, no motivation to get it done!  I'M IN TROUBLE!  I still have half the semester to finish it right :).

Anyway, now you can kind of see why I have been slacking on Blogging again, I'm kind of busy.  But only 8 more weeks and I'll be free again!  Hopefully.
